The SBC-ESP-BO1 ESP breakout board was developed to make connecting and expanding compatible JoyIT development boards as simple, clear and flexible as possible. It supports different board designs with pin row spacings of 22.86 mm and 25.4 mm, making it compatible with various Joy-IT NodeMCU and ESP32 boards. The development board is plugged directly into the designated female headers and can be removed or replaced at any time.

Each individual pin of the inserted board is routed to two additional connection points: a female header and an easily accessible screw terminal. This allows jumper wires and plug-in connections as well as fixed cables to be connected. Sensors, displays, relays, actuators and other external components can therefore be connected quickly and securely without having to solder wires directly to the development board. At the same time, all pins remain accessible via the additional female headers for measurements, extensions or further connections.

The connections are numbered consecutively, allowing the corresponding contacts of the female headers and screw terminals to be easily identified. This helps keep even more complex circuits clearly organised and makes modifications during development easier. Particularly in frequently changing test setups, connections can be adjusted and individual components replaced without having to rebuild the entire circuit.

The SBC-ESP-BO1 is therefore ideal for prototypes, experimental and test setups, as well as projects in education, schools and universities. The screw terminals also provide a reliable and mechanically secure connection for permanent installations. With its support for two pin row spacings, additional female headers and screw terminals, the board provides a versatile interface between the ESP development board and the connected hardware.
