Stepper motors with hollow shaft
Stepper motors with hollow shafts are used in applications where a shaft or other element must be guided through the stepper motor. This type of motor is particularly suitable for applications such as rotary axes, positioning systems or devices where a passage is required for cables, lines or other components.
The main difference is in the design of the shaft. While standard stepper motors have a solid shaft that passes through the motor's housing, stepper motors with hollow shafts have a hollow center that allows other elements to pass through the motor. This makes them ideal for applications where passage is required. However, due to their design, hollow shaft stepper motors tend to be slightly less powerful than conventional stepper motors.
